Remember, mistakes are often springboards for powerful pivots and incredible growth.
Pivot, Don’t Panic:
- Express it out: Grab your journal, let emotions flow, and write until you feel lighter. End with positive affirmations. You’ve got this!
- Move your body: Take a long walk, hit the gym, or unleash your energy through movement. Fresh air and endorphins work wonders.
- Talk it out: Share with a trusted friend, listen to a calming podcast, or simply walk and listen to music. Sometimes, just needing an ear can shift your perspective.
Boundaries: Your Secret Weapon:
- Learn the lesson: Every stumble offers a chance to grow. What can you take away from this experience?
- Set boundaries: Protect your time and energy. Delegate tasks you dislike, and focus on what truly lights you up. Boundaries empower you to build a business and life you love.
Self-Care: The Unsung Hero:
- Ditch perfectionism: It’s okay to have a bad day, make mistakes, or crave rest. Perfection is a mirage; embrace progress and self-compassion.
- Fuel your mind and body: Prioritize at least an hour of “you time” daily, even if it’s just a simple walk or reading a few pages. You deserve it!
My Pivot Journey:
When I started in 2014, I was an all-work, no-play entrepreneur. Hair in a bun, sleep-deprived, and pushing myself to the limit. My well-being suffered, and let me tell you, it wasn’t a recipe for success.
Learning to prioritize self-care wasn’t just about feeling good; it was essential for running a thriving business. My mindset shifted from “prove myself” to “build a sustainable, joyful path.”
That’s why I now emphasize self-care alongside brand building. Entrepreneurship throws challenges, but by embracing our shortcomings, learning from them, and nurturing ourselves, we can pivot not just from mistakes, but towards a fulfilling and successful journey.
Remember: It’s about progress, not perfection. Take it one day at a time, learn, pivot, and grow.
